The attractive semi-spreading plant produces leaves that have a crinkly appearance akin to waffles. This plant is easy to grow and low maintenance, adding a splash of color to any room or office. It is native to the tropical regions of Indonesia and India.

During the warm months, small, white, flowers are produced in spikes at the ends of the stems, which contrast beautifully with the dark foliage.

Watering: Growing purple waffle plants need evenly moist soil. Consistent watering of well-drained soil promotes the growth and well-being of the plant.

Light: Purple waffle plant prefers medium to bright light indoors. If the plant doesn’t get enough light, it will lose some of the rich purple colorings. If it gets too much direct sun as a houseplant, the leaves will bleach and show signs of sunburn.

Potting Mix: You can use any good potting mix. However, use a pot with good drainage. The preferred soil for this plant is humus-rich, crammed with lots of organic material. It should be rich and remain moist but drain off excess liquid well. You can also use a peaty soil mix. Avoid hard clay soils, as the roots have difficulty in those.

Fertilizer: Fertilize the purple waffle plant a couple of times a year (at minimum) to keep it happy. You can feed them more frequently if you wish, especially if you grow them in a bright spot. You can use any houseplant fertilizer.

Temperature:  Purple Waffle Plant can grow in temperatures between 55-80 degrees, however, they do prefer a consistent temperature.

• Do not re-pot the plant immediately after receiving it. 
• For 3 to 7 days, place the plant in indirect sunlight.
• Keep checking the soil moisture and keep the plant hydrated all time. 
• Do not overwater it
• Whenever your waffle plant needs a more compact, bushy shape, pinch the tips of the plant to make it bushier. Simply pinch the leaves, stems, or buds just above them.
