🌱 Refund & Return Policy – Live Plants & Other Products
📦 Live Plants are Non-Returnable
Due to their perishable nature, Live Plants are non-returnable once delivered.
We ensure careful packaging and thorough quality checks before dispatch, but we cannot accept returns or exchanges for live plant products once they have been delivered.
🚚 Order Cancellation, Delivery & Refund Conditions
🌱 Live Plant Orders
Refunds for live plant orders are only possible before the order has been shipped.
Once a live plant order has been dispatched from our facility, the order cannot be cancelled due to the perishable nature of the product.
If a shipped plant order cannot be delivered, the following process will apply:
1️⃣ Address Re-Verification
If delivery fails, our team may contact the customer to re-verify the shipping address and phone number.
2️⃣ Reshipment Attempt
Once the address has been verified, we may attempt to reship the plant to ensure successful delivery.
3️⃣ Refund Eligibility After Shipment
A refund may only be considered if multiple delivery attempts fail despite the address being correct and verified, and the shipment cannot be successfully delivered.
4️⃣ Incorrect Address Provided by Customer
If the shipping address, PIN code, or contact details are incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate, the order will be treated as undeliverable due to customer-provided information.
Because live plants are perishable items and may not survive extended transit:

No refund or replacement will be issued

The order amount may be forfeited
Customers are strongly advised to carefully verify their shipping address, PIN code, and phone number before placing an order.
📦 Non-Plant / Non-Perishable Products
Non-perishable products remain eligible under our 30-day return policy, subject to the conditions outlined below.
If a non-plant item cannot be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer, the following will apply:

The order may be returned to us by the courier

A refund may be issued after deducting shipping and handling charges

Alternatively, the item may be reshipped after address re-verification, and additional shipping charges may apply.
If a shipped non-plant item is cancelled due to address issues, the refund will be processed only after the item is returned to us and the shipping cost is deducted.
⚠️ Important Note for Live Plant Orders
Live plants are sensitive and can perish easily. At every step while placing the order, we advise customers to double-check the shipping address and phone number.
Delivery failures due to:

Incorrect addresses

Unavailable recipients

Wrong PIN codes

Order rejection at the time of delivery
can result in the plant being returned to us — in which case the plant may not survive.
In such situations, no refund or replacement will be issued, as the product may perish due to circumstances beyond our control.
✅ Returnable Products
We have a 30-day return policy for non-perishable items, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

In the same condition that you received it

Unworn or unused
-
In its original packaging with tags

Accompanied by the receipt or proof of purchase

Please note: Returns must be pre-approved. Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.

❌ Non-Returnable Products
We do not accept returns for the following items:

Live plants and other perishable items

Custom or personalized items

Personal care goods

Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases

Sale items or gift cards
However, if a live plant is severely damaged in transit, please report the issue within 24 hours of delivery by sending photographs of the damaged plant to shop@abanahomes.com.
Once received, the case will be reviewed by our team and a bonsai inspector, who will assess the condition based on the photos.
Please note:

Leaf shedding during transit is normal and does not imply that the plant is dead or unhealthy.

Minor cosmetic issues or slight yellowing are not grounds for replacement.

If the plant is severely damaged beyond recovery (e.g., broken trunk, completely dried root ball), we will arrange a replacement.
🔁 Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to place a new order for the replacement item after your return is accepted.
🇪🇺 European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If your order is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days for any reason.
This right does not apply to perishable goods such as live plants.
💰 Refunds
Once we’ve received and inspected your return, we will notify you of the refund status.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days.
