The Banyan is a hardy, vigorous outdoor bonsai that is easy to grow, even for beginners.

• Sunlight: bright light with a few hours of direct sun; happiest outdoors on a balcony, terrace or in the garden
• Watering: water when the topsoil begins to dry, more often in summer; avoid waterlogging
• Fertilizing: feed once every 30–60 days with NPK 19:19:19 or vermicompost
• Pruning: trim lightly and regularly to hold its shape and encourage new growth
