Displays an impressive, classic S-curve (Moyogi) style.
1. Nebari & Trunk:
The exposed, dramatic root system at the base adds a sense of age and struggle. The braiding and twisting of the roots give the tree a very unique, and rugged personality.
The transition where the roots fuse into the main trunk creates a bit of a heavy "knot" which gives the tree an individual character.
2. Trunk movement:
The movement of the trunk is smooth and highly defined.
The trunk tapering is somewhat uniform in thickness and their is a large cut near the top, but it is well hidden and healed (with cambium fully grown).
3. Canopy & Branch structure:
The branches are well-positioned on the outer curves of the trunk, which is good. The left lower branch adds a nice counter-balance to the dramatic trunk movement.
The foliage appears vibrant, green, and healthy but a bit light. It has naturally small leaves and ability to reduce even further in size makes it very desirable for bonsai.
The canopy is slightly top-heavy and competing a bit with the lower branches for light and visual dominance.
A light refinement of the top would allow more light to reach the inner lower branches and define the individual foliage pads more clearly.
4. Pot Selection
The vibrant, glossy blue ceramic pot provides a striking, high-contrast complement to the earthy tones of the trunk and the dark green leaves. The oval shape supplement the fluid, informal upright style of the tree perfectly.
5. Packing: Well packed, no issue at all.

Really appreciate the hard work put in to shaping and keeping the bonsai beautiful. One thing I must say that abanahomes bonsai are great, true to life, as you see in the picture and very well trained.
