Ficus Pumila Plant

Ficus Pumila plant is attractive and easy to grow, but they are also excellent and relatively hardy houseplants that can withstand a variety of different settings and even a certain degree of neglect.

Ficus Pumila is a more civilized vining plant—especially when grown as a houseplant. Native to Asia, it can be grown in terrariums or used in a larger container, where it will prettily cascade over the sides of the container.

As a young indoor plant, Ficus Pumila has small heart-shaped glossy leaves on slender stems. Outside, mature plants develop a leathery texture and elliptical shape on bushy stems.

Care guide

Light: Keep this plant where it will receive direct or indirect bright sunlight for at least 5-6 hours each day.

Soil: Use nutrient-rich, well-drained, well-aerated, and porous potting mix for the Ficus pumila plant.

Watering: Water a plant when the topsoil in the pot (5 to 8 cm) feels dry to the touch. Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in the winter & rainy seasons. If possible, try to water the plants in the morning around 8-10 am.

Fertilizer: Feed this plant mostly in the spring and early monsoon season. Also, loosen the topsoil without disturbing the roots so the plant can easily uptake the nutrients and moisture.
