Sansevieria Black Gold
The stiff, pointed leaves are tall, thin, and strong. Some of the colors available are dark green, pale green, green edged with yellow, and variegated light green and yellow. Some species have delicate flower spikes that look appealing. The Sansevieria is an excellent choice for an indoor garden.
It’s an evergreen herbaceous perennial plant with a creeping rhizome that forms dense stands. From a basal rosette, its rigid leaves grow vertically. Mature leaves of Sansevieria trifasciata black gold are dark green with light gray-green cross-banding and measure between 27 and 2-2.5 inches in length and width.
Because of the sharpness of its leaves, it is popularly referred to as the snake plant or mother-in-tongue law. The sansevieria black gold plant is used as a protective charm in Africa to ward off evil or bewitchment.
Caring Tips
- You’ll need a sturdy container to grow it indoors, such as a clay pot. It prevents the roots from breaking as they expand.
- Because of the plant’s shallow roots system, it should be wide but not tall.
- For optimum drainage, your pot should have a hole. The Snake plant’s growing medium should also be adequately drained to minimize waterlogging, as too much water might cause the plant to decay.
- Keep the plant away from drafts, strong winds, and extreme temperatures as well.
- When the soil in the pot is fully dry, you should water it. Once every two weeks, take a look at it.
- Too much water causes the roots to decay, and extreme temperatures cause the leaves to scar.
Growing Instructions for Black Gold Snake Plant
- Deal with direct sunlight and low light levels. Despite the fact that snake plants thrive in bright light, limit their exposure to it.
- Only water the topsoil when it is absolutely dry. It’s best to water once every ten days.
- Don’t over fertilize the Black Gold Snake plant’s soil. They are not heavy feeders. During the summer, lightly treat them with houseplant fertilizers.
